About Us

Who We Are

Amanah Community Centre is a purpose-driven social enterprise founded on the principle of ‘Amanah’—an Arabic term meaning "a trust held for the benefit of others." We exist to serve one of the most vulnerable groups in our society: Muslim children aged 12 to 17 who have been placed in state care due to family breakdown, often resulting from domestic and family violence.

Our centre provides a culturally safe and nurturing residential environment where these young people can feel protected, valued, and supported—emotionally, spiritually, and practically. Based in the heart of the Greater Dandenong community, which has one of the highest Muslim populations in Victoria, we aim to restore a sense of belonging and purpose in the lives of the children we care for.

Our Mission

We are here to support young people in care, particularly those impacted by trauma, migration, and family breakdown. Through culturally and spiritually aligned residential placements, we honour the sacred trust of caring for each child and guiding them toward a brighter, more hopeful future.
